STUDIUM URBIS ROMAE
2020-2026

Between 2020 and 2026, I sought to reconnect with the profound pleasure of Otium—the erudite pursuit of discovery and intellectual cultivation. The insights of contemporary scholars and intellectuals such as Anna Maria D’Achille, Antonella Sbrilli, Eliana Billi, Valter Curzi, Giovanni Maria Vian, Daniele Guastini, Massimo Moretti, Massimiliano Papini, Claudio Zambianchi, and Alessandro Zuccari provided the analytical framework for a journey that began, without a predetermined destination, in 1995.
My choice naturally fell upon the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, specializing in Art History. Here, my research converges on the origins of the ancient world and the classical concepts of Greek and Latin beauty and harmony, navigating through the complex iconography and iconology of symbols and allegories. This intellectual evolution explores beauty as a humanistic ecstasy—a rediscovery of that 'stunning surprise' found within the Baroque Sublime. At the same time, it embraces the great legacy of the late 19th century, defined by color, and the artistic revolution of the early 20th century, which marked the dawn of contemporary art history. This path ultimately leads to new interpretations of digital art and AI. My vision attempts to unify these historical currents through the philosophical concept of Histemistasis."
